Why Having A Nanny Rocks

My Nanny Rocks Partners:

(Left to Right) Kim Washam, Lily Sacks-Hubbard, and Jennifer Godek.

 Jennifer Godek

Jennifer gained lots of hands on experience with newborn- toddlers while working at an infant center in downtown Ann Arbor. Next came preschoolers, and that was lots of fun! She taught fitness and helped the children with year long Reggio projects. Working at this preschool opened the door to new families and babysitting for Jennifer. Moving to elementary aged children at a Montessori school provided the opportunity to try new activities and fall in love with older kids.

While living abroad in London, Jennifer was a live-in nanny for four wonderful children ages two through six. She had a new appreciation for parents (and all of the hard work they do) after this job was finished! After moving back to Ann Arbor, Jennifer has been a nanny to several families in the area. She is presently a full time nanny for a sweet baby girl.

Lily Sacks-Hubbard

Lily has worked with families in a variety of capacities over the years. During college she worked as a nanny for several families who coincidentally all had multiples. Lily spent one year studying abroad during college in London, UK working in a residential psychiatric unit for women with postpartum depression who were hospitalized with their infants.  After obtaining degrees in Early Childhood Development and Psychology she ran a teen parenting program for a year and a half then moved to New York City where she worked briefly for Manhattan Mothers of Multiples. Upon returning to Ann Arbor she worked as a postpartum doula while putting herself through graduate school at the University of Michigan to obtain her MSW.
Lily is currently a social worker in the Maternal Child Health Division at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

Kim Washam

Kim is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a degree in elementary education.  A native to Battle Creek, MI  she began her journey as a tutor, teacher's assistant, and summer camp counselor working with underpriviledged children.   Before transferring to EMU Kim worked at a Day Care Center with infants through school-aged children.  She started as a part-time nanny in college which evolved into a full time career.  Kim stayed with the same family for five years and was a live-in for the last two years. During her time as a full time nanny she also was a subsitute teacher in the Lincoln Consolidated School District in Ypsilanti. Currently, she is working as a full time live-in nanny for two adorable little girls (two and four) in Old Greenwich, CT.

Kim's most memorable moment with a charge: It was during pick up time at her preschool.  One child said to her charge Lily, " Lily your Mommy's here."  Lily smiled and said, "That's not my Mommy, that's MY Kimmie!"
